These are the questions people ask before they move their training log to a new app. Each answer is short and describes what GymYuz does today, including what it does not do.

Does it work offline, and do I need an account?

Logging, routines, timers and analysis all work with no signal. An account is optional. Without one, every workout, routine, photo and setting stays on your phone and nothing is sent anywhere. With an account, you sign in by email and your data syncs to GymYuz’s backend so other devices can get it. The sync catches up when a connection returns. You do not need a signal in the gym basement.

Is it free, and what does Pro add?

The logger is free. That covers unlimited logging, history, routines and custom exercises, plus the full analysis, backup, export, every import, widgets, watch apps and Health integrations. Pro adds multi-device cloud sync with media, an online voice allowance and priority support. The rule is simple: nothing that runs on the device moves behind the paywall. Prices are on the home page, in the Free and Pro section.

Are there ads or tracking?

There are no ads, no advertising SDK and no ad ids. There is no analytics or crash-reporting SDK today. If either is added later, it will be off until you turn it on, with a named toggle for each. Voice uses the phone’s speech service or the offline speech pack, and audio is never stored. Health data is never sold or used for ads.

Can I import my history from Hevy, Strong, Lyfta, FitNotes or openGym?

Yes. GymYuz imports workouts and bodyweight from all five. Imports are free. After an import, scan the exercise list for the same lift under two names, such as “Bench Press” and “Barbell Bench Press”. Pick one to use from then on. There is no merge tool, so the older entries keep their old name. For the full routine, read how to switch workout apps without losing your history.

Can I export my data and keep ownership of it?

Yes, and it is free. Export to CSV for a spreadsheet, or make a full ZIP backup. The ZIP holds your data plus the media you added, and it imports back into the app. Export on a schedule you can remember, once a month for example, and keep a copy somewhere that is not your phone. Your history is yours to take with you.

Is there an Apple Watch or Wear OS app?

Both exist. The Apple Watch app and the Wear OS app are part of the free logger. The rest countdown also shows on the watch. The phone apps need Android 8.0 or later, or iOS 15 or later. There is no web app and no desktop app.

Does the rest timer work with the screen off?

Yes. The timer starts after a logged set and uses your own alarm sound plus vibration. The app holds a wake lock so the alarm fires with the screen off. The countdown shows in the notification, in the iOS Live Activity and on the watch. You can add 15 or 30 seconds, take 15 off, or skip it. For how long to rest, see rest between sets.

Does it sync between my iPhone and my Android phone?

Multi-device sync is a Pro feature. Sign in with the same email account on each device and the data, including progress photos and videos, follows you. Without Pro, or without an account, your data stays on the one phone, and you can still move it with a ZIP backup. Sync is optional, and the app works fully without it.

Does it connect to Apple Health and Health Connect?

Yes. HealthKit on iOS and Health Connect on Android are both supported, and both are free. The app reads and writes health data only when you turn the integration on. Health data is never sold and never used for ads. If you leave it off, nothing is requested. You can turn it on later, after you have decided you like the app.

Can I add my own exercises and build routines?

Yes. There are 500+ exercises with animations and step-by-step instructions, and you can add your own. You can also swap any exercise’s art for your own photo, GIF or video. Routines can be reordered, grouped, duplicated and scheduled per weekday, and ready-made plans are included. Set up Places, such as home, gym or park, with the kit you own, and you are only offered what you can do there.

Does it support supersets, drop sets and RPE?

Yes to all three. Set types are warm-up, working, drop set, to failure and rest-pause. To make a superset, chain an exercise to the next one and the rest between them is skipped. Record RPE or RIR on every set, with a field for an exact value. Timed and cardio sets exist as well. If RPE is new to you, read RPE and RIR.

Can I track body weight, measurements and progress photos?

Yes. Log bodyweight and ten body measurements, each with a history. Progress photos sit on a timeline in front, side and back views, with a before and after comparison. The same timeline can also be drawn as a muscle map built from your sets. Photos stay on your phone unless you sign in and have Pro, which syncs media.

How is e1RM calculated?

e1RM is the estimated one-rep max for an exercise. It uses the Epley formula on weight and reps: weight × (1 + reps / 30). It does not use RPE. The strength curves in the app plot e1RM over time, so you can see whether you are getting stronger without testing a true max. The estimate is most accurate at 2 to 10 reps. See the one-rep max calculator guide.

Can I log hands-free?

Only partly. Voice mode takes commands, not dictation. The app reads the next set out loud: exercise, set, and weight and reps from last time. Then you press the earbud button and say done, skip rest, add time, pause, resume, next exercise or undo. It does not take dictated weights and reps. An offline speech pack lets the commands work with no signal.

Does it have a plate calculator and other tools?

Yes, and they are free. The plate calculator works out plates per side from the kit you own. There are six calculators in all: 1RM, plates, BMI, calories and macros, body fat and warm-up. Beyond those you get an RPE table, a rest timer tool and a unit converter.

Does it have widgets and a Live Activity?

Yes. Home-screen widgets on both phones show today, this week, activity, stats and the muscle map. On iOS, a Live Activity carries the live workout and the rest countdown. On Android, a persistent notification does the same job. A live session survives a reboot, and you can lock the workout so pocket taps do nothing.

Is there a social feed?

No, and that is deliberate. There is no feed, no following and no leaderboards. Your numbers come from your own sets. What you get instead is a profile with levels and 20 medals, a streak, a weekly goal ring and personal records. If you want to show a result, a share card or sticker can go on a photo.

Is GymYuz open source?

Yes. GymYuz is free software under the GPL-3.0, and it is based on GymMane by InlitX. The source is on GitHub. Exercise art is licensed CC BY-SA 4.0: it comes from Workout Guide by Bryl Lim, which builds on Everkinetic. You can read what the app does with your data instead of taking our word for it.

How do I delete my data or my account?

For local data, use Delete everything in the app. It removes everything on the phone in one tap. For an account, go to You, then Account, then Delete, or use the form on the support page. Account deletion removes the account, synced workouts, photos and videos, and any Pro entitlement within 30 days. Pro itself is cancelled in the App Store or Google Play.

When can I get it?

The app is in preparation for the App Store and Google Play. The waitlist on the home page gets you the beta invite first, through TestFlight or a Play closed test, and then an email when the stores go live. Pro is bought and cancelled through the store, and refunds go through the store as well.
